Cub Foods In Madison Wisconsin Closing 2011

Cub Foods in Madison is closing, both the East and West side locations. They will close in January. Metcalf's Market has purchased the West location (surprise - not the East one). They also have a location on Midvale inside Hilldale.

(Insert a sad face here.)

I love that Cubs accepted all kinds of coupons. That they accept coupons past the expiration date. That they publish ads. Metcalf's is nice, but the prices are bloated. I wouldn't be anymore likely to shop there for my major grocery haul than I would Whole Foods.

Bummer.

I've heard the price of peanut butter is going to skyrocket. Sad, because we eat a lot of peanut butter. I did get an email from Cub Foods, though, with a manufacture coupon for $1.50 off 3 jars.  It does not specify Cub on the coupon, so maybe this one can be matched up with a deal from somewhere else.
